Alan Jaffe for College

Blue Fin Capital had the pleasure of mentoring Alan in the summer of 2026. On a weekly basis, Alan met with me to discuss the wealth management business, investment fundamentals, and portfolio construction. I was impressed by Alan’s curiosity, maturity, and eagerness to learn. Alan asked thoughtful questions, showed a genuine interest in understanding financial markets and was a pleasure to have at Blue Fin. Alan’s passion for business and investing makes him an ideal candidate for any undergraduate business program.

I have known Alan since his freshman year at Moses Brown School and taught him in my Economics of Social Innovation (ESI) course in the spring of 2026. I know him as an exceptionally bright, creative, and enterprising scholar-athlete whose talents extend well beyond the classroom and ice rink. Alan is a fiercely competitive varsity ice hockey goaltender and senior captain at MB. He is also an outstanding student and an imaginative entrepreneur at heart. He possesses a rare combination of intellectual curiosity, originality, confidence, and determination. Whether defending the net, developing an innovative and actionable business plan, or launching a student-run podcast at MB, Alan approaches challenges with energy, purpose, and an impressive willingness to take initiative.
