At Moses Brown, I have had the privilege of playing on the varsity hockey team. Despite the challenges of 6 a.m. practices, a demanding schedule, and tough coaching, I am grateful for the growth and experiences hockey has given me. As the starting goalie, I have embraced the responsibility of leading on and off the ice and earning the captain position. Although we lost in the RI semifinal state playoffs my sophomore year, we rose from the bottom of our division the previous year to the top and had the best season in our program’s history. During my junior year we built on that success and were viewed as a strong contender to win the state championship. Unfortunately, we had a heartbreaking 0-1 loss again in the semifinals. I am honored to have earned the RI Coaches Association Third Team All-State award my sophomore and junior years. I was also nominated to the Providence Journal Second Team All-State my sophomore year. I received the Most Valuable Player Award by the Moses Brown coaching staff my sophomore year which is an accomplishment I will always treasure.

Since I was 12, I have played for the Providence Capitals 2009 Elite team, which has frequently been ranked among the top 25 youth hockey teams nationally. I have competed against players from around the world, including Division I commits and projected NHL draft picks. We have played in the most prestigious tournaments such as the Quebec Pee-Wee International Tournament, CCM Chicago Invite, and USA Hockey National Playoffs. Because I started playing hockey later than most, I had to work my way up from playing on lower level teams to being chosen to play on my elite team which required a laser focus on my development and making this achievement one of my proudest accomplishments. Through this journey, I have learned that you get out what you put in and that everyone has their own path, whether that means pursuing college hockey or taking a different direction.
During my junior summer, I decided to learn how to golf partly because all of my friends play and also because I believe one day it will provide great networking and business opportunities. Obviously, golf has a lot less physical strain than hockey, so I view golf as a skill I hope to improve and continue to play throughout my lifetime.

My dad and I built our basement fitness center with the goal of being able to do fundamental weight training, cardio, calisthenics and stretching. In the summer, I tend to do more weight training to gain strength and muscle. During the winter, I maintain my body through the hockey season with light cardio, calisthenics and stretching. I consider this project with my dad a vital part of improving my performance on the ice.
